School year

  • The school year consists of 190 days, and it is divided into five periods of around seven weeks.
  • The school year starts in mid-August and ends in late May/early June. In addition to the summer vacation, there are three breaks in the school year: a week in mid-October and late February as well as two weeks around Christmas.
  • The school day is from 8.10 to 15.30. The length of the school day depends on the individual study program.
  • Lunch is served free of charge around noon every school day.
  • School is non-graded, which means that instead of having a fixed number of years, the students have to complete a minimum of 75 courses.
  • Students may choose the subjects/courses they are going to study during each period. At the end of each period the students pass a test in the subjects taken.
  • Students can study at their own pace and finish school after studying 2-4 years, the average being 3 years.
